The terms, in plain English.

UPDATED SEPTEMBER 2026

Using the site means agreeing to these. They are short and we have tried to make them fair.

Using the site

Up The Villa is published for personal, non-commercial reading. You may link to any page. You may quote a headline and a short excerpt with attribution and a link. You may not republish our summaries, timelines or features in bulk, scrape the site to build another one, or present our confidence and madness scores as anything other than Up The Villa’s own estimates.

What the newsroom is

News stories are summaries of reports by named third-party sources, with links to those sources. We do our best to be accurate and we correct mistakes openly, but a rumour is a rumour: a confidence score is an estimate, not a promise, and nothing on this site is advice on which to bet, buy or sell. Third-party content belongs to its publishers. See the sources policy.

Buying goods

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT. An order is accepted when we email you a confirmation with an order reference; until then we can decline it, for instance if an item is unavailable or a price was shown in error. Items are printed to order by our print partner and dispatched from the United Kingdom; the dispatch estimate on the product page is our best guess, not a guarantee.

Returns and cancellations

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you can cancel an order within 14 days of receiving it, for any reason, and return the goods for a full refund including standard delivery. Because items are made to order we ask that they come back unworn and unwashed. Faulty or wrong items are replaced or refunded at our cost, including return postage. Email us with your order reference to start either.

Accounts and the newsletter

Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your login. The daily brief is free and you can leave at any time. Our privacy notice explains what we keep.

Liability

We do not exclude anything the law says we cannot exclude, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, the site is provided as it is, and we are not liable for losses that come from relying on a rumour, a score, or a page being unavailable.

Trade marks

“Aston Villa” and the club’s crest and marks belong to Aston Villa Football Club and are used here only to describe what we write about. See the independence statement.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
