Up The Villa is an independent supporter publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Aston Villa Football Club, the Premier League or any of their partners. Reporting is summarised from named sources and linked to them; rumours are labelled as rumours.
Affiliation
Up The Villa has no commercial, editorial or official relationship with Aston Villa Football Club, its owners, the Premier League, UEFA or any of their sponsors and partners. Nobody at the club reviews what we publish. Nobody at the club is paid by us, and we are not paid by them.
Marks and imagery
We do not use the Aston Villa crest, the lion, the club wordmark, official kit photography, official club imagery or licensed player photography. Transfer entries show a typographic monogram rather than a face until an image is properly licensed. Placeholder imagery is generated or typographic and is captioned IMAGE: UTV STUDIO so it cannot be mistaken for reportage.
Our claret and blue are our own values, chosen to sit near the club’s colours without being them, and claret is used sparingly by design.
How we name the club
We write “Aston Villa” and “Villa” because that is the club we write about, in the same way any newspaper would. The names are used descriptively and remain the property of Aston Villa Football Club.
Goods
Nothing we sell is official merchandise and nothing we sell carries a club mark. The designs are about the place — B6, Witton Lane, the Holte End as a building — and are our own work.
