Aston Villa were reportedly interested in signing West Ham United defender Jean-Clair Todibo during the final days of the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. The claim, first published on 27 August, suggested the club viewed the Frenchman as a potential successor to Ezri Konsa following his move to Arsenal.
Football Insider cited detailed per-90 statistics in its report, arguing that Todibo's defensive numbers indicate he could match or surpass the output Konsa provided before departing for north London. No transfer fee was mentioned in the coverage.
The summer window closed on 1 September without any such deal being announced. Premier League clubs cannot complete new signings until the January 2027 window opens on New Year's Day, meaning any lingering interest would have to wait until then to progress.
Aston Villa have not publicly commented on the speculation linking them with the West Ham centre-back.
