Aston Villa travel to Belgium this week to face Club Brugge in their opening Champions League fixture of the season. The match carries a 5.45pm UK start time, with pre-match coverage beginning half an hour earlier.

Reshmin Chowdhury will present the broadcast, joined in the studio by Joe Cole and former Villa midfielder Stilyan Petrov. Sam Matterface and Lucy Ward are scheduled to provide commentary for the game in Belgium.

According to Football365, supporters should be aware of changes to how European club football is shown domestically. TNT Sports is in its final year holding the rights to these competitions, and its output is now integrated with HBO Max. Both platforms will stream the matches, though each requires a paid subscription.

For those reluctant to commit to a lengthy contract, the publication notes that both services can be accessed through Amazon Prime as a rolling monthly add-on. This allows viewers to pay only for the months when European football is being played.

A subscription grants access to every Champions League match carried by the broadcaster, alongside Europa League and Conference League fixtures. The sole exception is the single Tuesday night Champions League tie shown separately on Amazon Prime itself.

Other English clubs feature prominently in the early schedule. Wednesday evening includes Liverpool hosting Atletico Madrid and Arsenal welcoming Borussia Dortmund, while Manchester United face Sabah on Thursday.

The coverage also extends to matches involving continental sides, including Real Madrid meeting Inter Milan. Viewers using HBO Max will have access to a Multiview function allowing several games to be watched simultaneously, and a late-night goals programme rounding up the action across Europe will return as part of the package.
