Aston Villa's registered Premier League squad for the 2026/27 campaign has been made public, according to Birmingham Live, revealing the shape of the team following a busy summer transfer window that shut on 1 September. Ten fresh additions have been integrated into the 25-man list managed by Unai Emery, reflecting a period of significant turnover at the club.
Several high-profile figures from recent seasons are no longer included. Birmingham Live notes that Emiliano Martínez, Ollie Watkins and Ezri Konsa are among those to have moved on. Youri Tielemans, Lucas Digne and Morgan Rogers also depart the registered group, underlining the scale of the rebuild undertaken before the deadline passed.
Premier League regulations permit a maximum of 25 senior players, with no more than 17 allowed to be non-home-grown. The remainder must meet home-grown criteria, and Villa's submitted list adheres to these rules, featuring a mix of domestic talent and international signings.
Among the new names on the senior roster are Alejandro Garnacho, João Gomes and Leon Goretzka. They join established figures such as John McGinn, Pau Torres and Boubacar Kamara, alongside returning striker Tammy Abraham and goalkeeper Marco Bizot. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Ian Maatsen, Nicolas Jackson and Victor Lindelöf also feature in the updated squad.
Goalkeeping duties appear to have been handed to Zion Suzuki and James Wright following the exit of Martínez. In defence, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Matteo Ruggeri provide fresh options alongside Tyrone Mings and Matty Cash, while Amadou Onana anchors the midfield.
Beyond the senior 25, a lengthy list of Under-21 players remains eligible for selection in league matches. That group includes academy prospects such as Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba, Kosta Nedeljkost and Rory Wilson, ensuring Emery retains access to younger talent throughout the campaign.
With the transfer window now closed until it reopens on 1 January 2027, this registered group represents Villa's definitive pool of players for the coming months. Any further adjustments to the squad will have to wait until the winter registration period.
