Unai Emery has immediately introduced Nicolas Jackson into his starting eleven for the Premier League meeting with Arsenal, handing the forward his debut following his arrival from Chelsea. Jackson leads the attack after Villa played without a recognised centre-forward during the recent 4-0 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Zion Suzuki also makes his first appearance between the posts for the club, having completed a move from Parma. The goalkeeper takes his place ahead of a back four featuring Matty Cash, Victor Lindelof, Pau Torres and Ian Maatsen.

In midfield, Ross Barkley steps in to replace the suspended Joao Gomes alongside Boubacar Kamara. John McGinn, Jaden Hemmings and Emiliano Buendia complete the starting lineup detailed by Sports Mole.

Several summer additions must wait for their first competitive minutes. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Matteo Ruggeri and Alejandro Garnacho are all named on the substitutes' bench, joined by Tammy Abraham, who has been linked with a move to Ipswich Town.

For the visitors, Mikel Arteta has kept faith with the identical eleven that secured a 4-0 victory over Coventry City. Kai Havertz again operates as the central attacker, with Viktor Gyokeres listed among the replacements.

One familiar face returns to the West Midlands in a different shirt. Ezri Konsa, who departed Villa Park after seven years with the club, is included on the Arsenal bench. Bruno Guimaraes is also available for the visitors after recovering from an injury that ruled him out of their opening league fixture.
