Aston Villa are among the clubs reported to be monitoring Fiorentina midfielder Cher Ndour, according to Sports Mole and TEAMtalk. Both outlets state that Liverpool are also tracking the 22-year-old, although neither suggests a formal approach has been made to the Serie A side. With the Premier League transfer window having closed on 1 September, any potential deal would need to wait until trading resumes on 1 January 2027.
Ndour arrived at Fiorentina from Paris Saint-Germain in early 2025 for a fee reported to be around £4.3m. His first full campaign in Italy yielded seven goals and three assists across 47 matches in all competitions, including four strikes in the Conference League. The 6ft 3in midfielder subsequently won his first two senior caps for Italy in June.
Fiorentina are said to value Ndour significantly above his purchase price. Sports Mole reports that the Florence club would require between £25.8m and £30m to consider a sale, given that he is contracted at the Artemio Franchi until 2029. Transfermarkt currently lists his valuation at approximately £17.2m, and Fiorentina reportedly turned away interest from unnamed clubs before the recent deadline passed.
Unai Emery's squad was bolstered in central areas over the summer with the arrivals of Leon Goretzka, Johan Manzambi and Joao Gomes. However, Amadou Onana's cruciate ligament tear means Villa will be without one of their key midfielders for an extended period, which may prompt further recruitment when the market reopens.
Liverpool's interest is framed by TEAMtalk as part of a broader effort to address balance in their own engine room. Jamie Carragher is quoted describing space in the Merseyside club's midfield as a persistent issue under new manager Andoni Iraola, while Juventus and Inter Milan are also mentioned as admirers of Ndour's development.
Aston Villa have not commented on the speculation. For now, Ndour remains a Fiorentina player, and any pursuit from Villa Park would only become actionable once the January window opens.
