Aston Villa linked with Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu alongside Premier League rivals
Sport Witness reports that Villa, Tottenham and Newcastle are prepared to offer significant sums for the Frenchman, though Juventus are pushing to extend his contract.
Aston Villa are reportedly keeping tabs on Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu, according to Sport Witness, who claim the club sit alongside Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United in a queue of English admirers. The story first emerged on 9 September, shortly after the summer transfer window closed.
The outlet, drawing on reporting from TuttoJuve journalist Mirko Di Natale, states that the three Premier League clubs would be prepared to pay significant sums to secure the Frenchman. Manchester United are also said to have sent scouts to watch Kalulu previously, although no approach materialised before the deadline passed on 1 September.
Kalulu has started all three of Juventus' Serie A fixtures this season, operating primarily at right-back under Luciano Spalletti. He arrived in Turin from AC Milan, where he also featured regularly as a centre-back, and his current contract runs until 2029.
Despite the reported interest from England and a potential return for Paris Saint-Germain, Di Natale suggests the defender is content in Italy and harbours ambitions of winning the Scudetto. Juventus are said to be alert to outside attention and have scheduled a meeting with his representatives to discuss a contract extension.
With the transfer window now shut until 1 January 2027, no Premier League club can complete a signing for several months. Any pursuit of Kalulu by Villa or their domestic rivals would therefore remain in the monitoring phase for the foreseeable future.
