The outlet noted that the former PSG player could secure regular minutes if he adapts swiftly to the physical demands of English football.
Sports Mole subsequently examined Villa’s options for Tuesday’s Champions League visit to Club Brugge, suggesting Mbaye is actively pressing for his first competitive appearance in claret and blue. The report indicates that either George Hemmings or Emi Buendia would likely make way should Emery decide to hand the winger an immediate opportunity.
His potential involvement comes against a backdrop of considerable change at the club. Youri Tielemans, Morgan Rogers, Lucas Digne, Ezri Konsa, Emiliano Martinez and Ollie Watkins all departed over the summer, while Amadou Onana sustained serious knee ligament damage during the World Cup.
