Aston Villa players nominated for Premier League Goal of the Month as club voting opens

Supporters can now have their say on the best strike from a busy September, with Villa also represented in the division-wide award.

Aston Villa have invited supporters to vote for the club's Goal of the Month for September, while confirming that Villa players feature among the nominees for the Premier League's own monthly award. Both announcements were made by the club today.

The internal poll gives fans the chance to pick their favourite strike from a month in which Villa played five times across three competitions. Unai Emery's side drew 0-0 at Hull City before beating Club Brugge 3-2 away in the Champions League, lost 2-1 at home to Nottingham Forest, won 3-1 at Coventry City in the League Cup and secured a 3-2 Premier League victory at Tottenham Hotspur.

Alongside the club's own vote, the Premier League has included Villa efforts in its shortlist for the division-wide Goal of the Month prize. The league's award is decided by a combination of public voting and a panel.

Villa return to action at Villa Park against Brentford on Saturday 10 October in the Premier League, followed by a Champions League home fixture against Fenerbahçe on Wednesday 14 October.
