Villa travel to struggling Tottenham on Saturday lunchtime

Unai Emery's side head to north London looking to build on their midweek cup win after a difficult start to the Premier League campaign.

Aston Villa return to Premier League action on Saturday when they visit Tottenham Hotspur, with kick-off scheduled for 12:30 UK time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. According to Sports Mole, the fixture will be shown live on TNT Sports 1, with streaming available via HBO Max or as an add-on through Amazon Prime Video for subscribers who hold the relevant package. Highlights are set to follow on BBC One's Match of the Day from 10:20pm.

Neither side has enjoyed a smooth opening to the domestic campaign. Villa occupy 19th place in the division with a single point from their first four matches, having drawn 0-0 at Hull City before losing 2-1 at home to Nottingham Forest most recently in the league. Tottenham are marginally better off in 17th on two points, though they have yet to find the net in the Premier League this term, drawing their last two outings against Everton and Nottingham Forest.

Unai Emery's squad will arrive in north London buoyed by a midweek victory. Villa secured a 3-1 win over Coventry City at the Coventry Building Society Arena on Wednesday to progress in the League Cup, offering some relief after a testing run of results. Spurs, by contrast, were knocked out of the same competition earlier in the week following a 3-1 defeat by Liverpool.

Villa won the corresponding fixture at the same ground last season, taking all three points in a 2-1 victory. Saturday presents another chance to claim an away result against opponents who are similarly short of momentum in the early weeks of the campaign.
